At the close of August Moore Belgium entered into a partnership with Waterland with the aim of playing a leading role in the consolidation of the Belgian accounting, tax, auditing and consulting midmarket. Today, on the 18th of December 2020, those intentions have become concrete thanks to a first important and wide-reaching step forward: PKF-VMB and Moore Belgium will be joining forces as of the 1st of January 2021.
Independent accounting and consultancy firm Moore Belgium (which has a forecast turnover of 60 million euros for 2020 and a workforce of around 500 people), entered into a firm partnership in August earlier this year with Waterland, presenting new opportunities for accelerated growth, mergers and acquisitions as well as for obtaining a stronger position in the Belgian accounting and consultancy market.
For many years Moore Belgium has been a reliable partner in the small and medium-sized enterprises segment, thanks to the wide range of services it offers in the fields of accountancy, auditing, business analytics, business consulting, corporate finance, interim management and tax & legal services. The company moreover characterises itself through its entrepreneurial spirit, its personal customer-focus and a firm belief in growth and progress – factors that are reflected in its vision, mission and ongoing growth.
With that vision and mission as the centrepiece, Moore Belgium found a perfect and equal new partner in the form of PKF-VMB. The latter (with an anticipated turnover of some 14 million euros in 2020 and a team of around 130 staff) is a group of business consultants that specialise in accounting, tax, auditing, M&A and financial reporting. Armed with such expertise, they help businesses to make the crucial decisions that will push them ahead and strengthen them. A central part of the PKF-VMB corporate culture is a deep level of involvement with the client. Using an approach that is characterised by pragmatism, expertise, customer-orientation and entrepreneurship, PKF-VMB has served a very wide range of clients, comprising international companies, SMEs and scaleups, for the last 20 years.
This links perfectly with the fundamental principle of Moore Belgium, acting as a company’s companion in taking on both the large and the small jobs that make all the difference for its clients.
The integration of PKF-VMB into the world of Moore Belgium sees both parties taking a great and sustainable step forward in terms of the future growth of their unified companies, their clients and their staff. Moreover, thanks to the local presence of PKF-VMB, Moore Belgium is also set to further expand its territory in Flanders, specifically through growth in Limburg (Pelt and Hasselt), and bolster its presence in Brussels, Antwerp and Ghent.
‘I am very proud of this partnership with PKF-VMB,’ said Peter Verschelden, Chairman of Moore Belgium. ‘Moore Belgium is a company made up of entrepreneurs devoted to entrepreneurs, and entrepreneurs don’t often stand still. I am moreover extremely pleased that we found an enthusiastic team in PKF-VMB that adopts the same high-quality and personal approach to the dynamic accounting and consulting market, one where the DNA corresponds so closely to our own. Together, we look forward to a bright future.’
‘We are very excited about this next chapter of our story, one which started 20 years ago, that will see us partnering up with Moore,’ said Wim Seynaeve, CEO of PKF-VMB. ‘There is a very clear match between our companies, together with a large number of complementary and reinforcing elements, making the greater sum of the parts extraordinarily evident. We know for certain that, together with Moore, the next chapter will be an even better one for our clients and our staff.’
Moore Belgium is the largest independent accounting and consulting firm in Belgium, with key centres in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Hasselt and with offices in Shanghai as well as a range of local offices across Flanders.
